Italian Dinner Night: St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church presents Italian Dinner Night on April 11, at 6:45 p.m. Tickets are $12 adults, $6 children (ages six to 12) and free for under six. Menu include lasagna, spaghetti with meat sauce, salad, garlic bread and dessert.
Home and cottage show: The Simcoe Spring Home and Cottage Show runs April 11-13 at the Barnfield Point Recreation Centre. Hours are Friday, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $3, children under 12 admitted free. There will be special activites for youngsters and $10,000 worth of door prizes. The centre is at Highway 12 and Atherley Road.

River solstice: For the third straight year, the Rotary Club of Washago and Area is celebrating the Summer Solstice. The club is proposing a vigil for the evening of June 21, calling on residents to light candles or torches on their watercraft, properties or docks along the Severn and Black rivers.
Art festival: The first annual Art on the Severn juried art show and sale will be held in Washago July 18-20. The Washago Community Centre and an adjacent tent will host an expected 50 artists, organizers noted.
“Our goal is to establish an annual art festival that will bring the community together and attract visitors from around the province,” said Louise Bongers.
