The Barrie Public Library is giving creative teens a chance to show off their stuff.
The library is holding its Teen Creative Art Contest until April 4.
Barrie and Oro-Medonte Township teens can enter in the 13- to 15-year-old or the 16- to 19-year-old age groups.
Teens can enter two items in each category, (short stories, poetry, Manga and fantasy artwork, and photography), and can enter more than one category.
All entries must be an original work, previously unpublished and created by one person.
Short stories can be any theme, and must be between 600 and 2,000 words in length.
Poetry can follow any theme or genre and can be any length.
Manga and fantasy artwork should be two-dimensional but can be any medium (pencil, ink etc.) and can be any size.
Photos cannot be altered and must be 8"x 10” in size and mounted on a 10" x
12” board.
Be sure to include a title, your name, phone number, school and age written on a white sheet of paper and taped to the back to the submission.
Poetry and short story entries will be published in a Creative Arts Contest book and catalogued at the library.
Manga and fantasy artwork and photos will be returned after the contest.
Winners will be invited to the annual Teen Creative Arts Expo Night on Apr. 25.
