Georgian speakers: Georgian College has released the roster of speakers for its winter series of free lectures at the Barrie campus’ Helen and Arch Brown Centre. On March 4 (10:30 a.m.), Toronto artist and animator Stephen Andrews is the scheduled speaker. His work was profiled in the winter 2007 edition of Canadian Art Magazine.

Hospital forum: The second community forum hosted by Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital is scheduled for March 5, at 7 p.m., in the hospital’s ‘Poppy Room’. The event runs until 8:30 p.m.

MURF town hall: All local taxpayers are invited to voice their opinions on the planned $63-million recreation centre at a town hall meeting on March 6 at Twin Lakes Secondary School.
