Bird count and potluck: A Christmas Bird Count and Pot Luck Supper is being held on Dec. 15, at 6 p.m., at Regent Park United Church. A $5 donation to the Audubon Society is welcome. Register for the event by calling Joan Rosebush at 329-1448.
Pride party: Orillia's LGBTQ2 Pride Committee holds its first-annual Christmas Celebration on Dec. 16, starting at noon, at Kelsey's on Memorial Avenue. All invited.
St. James' choir: The choir at St. James' Anglican Church presents 'Noel' - a Christmas cantata - on Dec. 16 at 10:30 a.m. All invited. The show is part of the regular Sunday service.
Jamboree: A Christmas Jamboree is planned at Warminster Legion on Dec. 16. The event runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and admission is $4.
The Frog Prince: Sunshine and Company present The Frog Prince at the Orillia Opera House, starting Dec. 16. Tickets are $25 for adults and $14 for children. Call 326-8011 to order.
CNIB service day: Staff from the CNIB will be at the Orillia Legion on Dec. 19 to answer questions about eye health and programs during a service day event. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. For an appointment to discuss a magnifier assessment or talking book player, call 728-3352.
Newcomers' party: The Orillia Newcomers' Club hosts a holiday party with a potluck, and $5 gift exchange, on Dec. 20. The event (originally scheduled for the 13th) is held at the Doolittle Carson Reception House (57 Neywash St.) at 6 p.m. All women new to the area are invited to attend.
Country dance: A dance in support of The Sharing Place will be held Dec. 21 at the Orillia Legion. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and all are welcome. Admission is free but donations to the food bank are requested. There will be live music, a cash bar, refreshments and draw prizes.
Santa parade: The Warminster Santa Claus Parade takes place on Dec. 23. It starts on Warminster Side Road at 2 p.m.
Candles and Carols: The annual Candles and Carols service will be held Dec. 23, at 7 p.m., at Knox Presbyterian Church in Craighurst. Rev. Lois Lyons is the scheduled guest minister.
Free skating: The Washago Rotary Club invites Washago-area families to join in an hour of free skating at the Rama MASK on Dec. 27, at 1 p.m.
Coldwater jam: Local musicians are invited to the 'Jam with the Bellaires' dance at Coldwater Legion on Dec. 30, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Flea market: The Orillia and District Agricultural Society hosts a flea market at ODAS Park on the last Sunday of each month. The market runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Vendors can call 325-0353 for more  details.

Ready for baby: 'Getting Ready for Baby' classes are offered by the Orillia chapter of the county health unit. There are three two-hour session before the baby is born and then one session following the birth. Call toll-free at 1-877-721-7520.
Fun and games: The TIE Club hosts Fun and Games on Jan. 28, at noon. Bring a bag lunch and a mug. The club is located at 56 West St. Future dates are: Feb. 25, March 31, and May 26. Call 327-1570.
Seniors bowling: Local seniors are invited to join a bowling league. Call 326-3452.
Immunizations: The county health unit provides regular immunization clinics at all its offices. Call 1-877-721-7520, to book an appointment or for more information.
Weekly service: The Orillia Star of Hope Spiritualist Church meets Sundays at 7 p.m. at 56 West St. N. For more information, call Rev. Shirley McCarnan at 329-3248.
