Workers should take pay cut

Over the years, I have seen the greedy CAW and its members go on strike over and over for more benefits, money, pensions and job security.

We can’t totally blame these workers for wanting to make a good living but maybe it’s about time that they give back to their companies like the Chrysler employees did back in the 1980s to help save their jobs instead of looking for the big bailout they want.

Maybe if they offered to take a 25-per-cent pay cut as a good gesture until the industry gets back on its feet, and no more strikes for say five years, then GM, Ford and Chrysler may try and keep these people employed.

The next thing is the price of these vehicles.

Recently, the big auto companies have been offering incentives on the 2008 trucks and cars. I can’t believe the cost of a bottom line truck. It’s absolutely ridiculous they feel that the normal person can even afford to buy one especially with the crazy gas prices and the economy so it’s no wonder that the truck division is going under.

I don’t think the governments should bail out the auto industry. There is no indication that the automakers will even bring back these jobs, so why waste money on something there probably will be no future in?
