The Simcoe Country District School Board is now accepting registrations for the summer school and summer camp programs.

A free educational summer camp is offered for Grade 7 and 8 students with a focus on math and English.

Students will also enjoy a number of activities including sports and leaderships development in partnership with the YMCA.

The camps are offered in two sessions, July 7-18 and Aug. 11-22.

A free educational camp is also being offered for Grade 9 and 10 students wishing to improve on their math, science and English skills.

Also in partnership with the YMCA, this camp offers a wide range of activities and is adventure based with a focus on environment and global awareness.

All camps run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Barrie, Alliston, Bradford, Orillia, Midland, Innisfil and Collingwood.

The board is also offering a summer school program to allow students to earn full credits in only one month.

Students can apply for any of the 25 courses as long as they have the prerequisite credits and are looking to earn a new credit or upgrade a previous mark.

Credits are offered in civics, English, math, biology, chemistry, physics, math, history and Challenge in Change in Society among others.

Courses are held at the Barrie Learning Centre and Bear Creek Secondary School.

Classes run from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 2 to July 25 and July 28 to Aug. 21.

All full-credit courses require a $20 student activity fee.
