The County of Simcoe has launched a project that aims to identify what interest locals have in high-speed Internet, while at the same time determining its availability in the community.

As such, local residents are being asked to participate in an online survey, which runs until May 31 and can be found by clicking the link available.

People can also take part in a telephone survey by calling 726-9300, ext. 1092.

The county says its hopes to have more clearly defined areas where service could be improved, so that officials can "engage providers through constructive recommendations towards potential solutions."

For more information, call the county's communications manager Allan Greenwood at 726-9300, ext. 1230 or information technology director Brian Smith at 726-9300, ext. 1188.
